How I work

BSc (Hons) Integrative Counselling
Bereavement Counselling
Counselling Skills with Children Using the Arts

I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor with experience of counselling adults, teenagers, and children presenting with a wide range of problems both within my private practice and within counselling organisations including NHS Counselling, College Counselling, School Counselling, Bereavement Counselling, Domiciliary Counselling, and Counselling Children in a Family Mediation Service specialising in issues related to separation and divorce. I am also trained and registered with Barnardos Link to provide Adoption Counselling and Attachment Focussed Therapy.

How I Work

Practicing as an Integrative Counsellor means I am able to draw from a range of theories and approaches to help clients explore their difficulties. These include psychodynamic, person centred, attachment, experiential and existential, as well as integrating aspects of short term approaches such as cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT)and solution focussed therapy. Working with a range of different theories can help adults and adolescents to gain insight and understanding of their presenting problems from different perspectives.

Counselling children requires special skills to help children explore and express their problems. See 'Child Counselling' page for more information about counselling for children.
